Highlights: Bessie joined on 16 Dec 1940, as Lieutenant and was posted to the camp hospital in Cowra, on 5 Apr 1941 before being sent to 119 Australian General Hospital, Darwin and was present when Darwin and the tented hospital located at Berrimah were bombed by the Japanese in February 1942.
Bessie then moved to 46 Camp hospital (QLD) on 14 Dec 1942, before going to 2/14 Australian General Hospital, Townsville on 23 Mar 1943. She went to 113 Military Hospital (Concord) on 24 Dec 1945, before her appointment was terminated on 2 Jul 1948. Bessie went to her father's home in Old Junee when she left the Army and never married. Bessie appears to have been involved with the Crookwell (or Binda) Red Cross before the war and appears on the Binda Memorial Hall WW2 Honour Board.
