Highlights: Marie was born in 1922 and enlisted on 28 Dec 1942. An entry in her service records indicate that she may have already been serving as a Volunteer Aid Detachment (VAD) nurse. After undertaking basic training at Ingleburn, Marie was posted to 7 Casualty Clearing Station, Greta on 21 Jan 1943, and was transferred to 70 Camp Hospital Greta (could have been a change of unit name) on 16 Jan 1944.

Marie was sent to the Australian Army Medical Women's School at Ingleburn on 2 Aug 1945, to undertake her nursing orderly training. She was then posted to 115 Military Hospital (Heidelberg) until her discharge on 5 Mar 1946.

Marie married Jack (John) Druett in 1949 in Goulburn. Jack (John) Druett (NX53511) had served with the 2/2 Field Regiment (Artillery) in New Guinea.

In 1963, with the assistance of the Crookwell RSL sub Branch Secretary, both Marie and Jack received their service medals.
